DIY Spring Maintenance

We get a lot of questions about best practices for maintenance of lawnmowers or other machines with small engines. One of the most common approaches is to conduct your own Spring maintenance with the following:

  1. Replace the spark plug.
  2. Clean or replace the air filter.
  3. Change the engine oil.
  4. Check and sharpen your blade.

If you do these four things every season, in conjunction with proper winterization, you will maximize the life of your machine.

Spring maintenance is for upkeep and should be done even if your machine is working properly. If there are other issues, you should bring it in to a professional. We offer tune up and repair services at our Chilliwack retail location.
